Matthew has more than 20 years of experience as a health, medical, and fitness writer and editor. His areas of expertise include medical conditions and diseases, cognitive health, exercise science, nutrition, and geriatric medicine. 

A seasoned editorial director and managing editor, Matthew excels at creating and implementing editorial strategies and procedures, and recruiting and leading teams of writers, editors, and industry experts.

Matthew has produced monthly newsletters for Harvard Health Publishing (Harvard Men’s Health Watch) and Belvoir Media Group (Healthy Years), and has written about a range of health and medical topics for HarvardHealthOnline+. He also has developed and edited special health reports and online medical guides for the nation’s top research hospitals and medical centers.

Matthew is a regular contributor to leading publications and websites, including Men’s Health, Muscle & Fitness, Runner’s World, Men’s Fitness, Bicycling, Yoga Journal, Healthline.com, and HealthCentral.com.

Matthew advocates health and fitness in his personal life. His endeavors include the JFK 50 Mile ultramarathon, IRONMAN 70.3 Florida, Wild Florida 50K, and multiple long-distance cycling events, such as RAGBRAI in Iowa, Cycle North Carolina, Cross Florida, and 72 Hours to Key West. He is a long-time member of Toastmasters International and has won numerous speech contents at the club, area, regional, and state levels.

In his spare time, he collects antique typewriters and fountain pens, reads James Michener books, and strives to be a better bridge player.
